NEW: FEES for camping, day use and parking begin this season, for all users.

Based upon current structure at Big Basin SP, the fee schedule is as follows: 
 Cabin: $50.00 (all per day/night)
 Tent site:  25.00  
 Day use: 6.00  
 Extra vehicles (ea):    6.00  
Group day use of the picnic area is limited  to groups of 150 people maximum. Fee for group day use is $300 per group which includes the $6 car fee.
Group overnight use of group camp site is limited to groups of 50 people maximum.  Fee for group overnight use is $250 per group which includes the $6 car fee.

Charging Little Basin user fees is necessary to comply with nonprofit statutes that govern Sempervirens Fund and POST. Our purpose is not revenue generation.


Reservation Policy:

  • Reservations can be made no more than 6 months in advance of your desired arrival date.
  • Cabin and campsite limits will be strictly enforced. See the "clickable" Campsite Map or Site Inventory for campsite limits.
  • One site/cabin per family during peak-camping season. (May 16 - October 1)
  • An employee may not reserve a site for another employee.
  • Each reservation assumes one vehicle.

Cancellation Policy:
  • If you are unable to make your reservation, you must call 24 hours prior to your arrival date to cancel. Please call 650-322-9256. Failure to give 24-hour cancellation notice will result in loss of camping privileges for one year. If a cancellation is received after 2:00 p.m. on the day prior to the arrival date, one night’s use will be charged at the reserved rate.
  • Cancellations are accepted only for the entire reservation dates. You cannot cancel just one day. For example, if the reservation is for Thursday through Sunday and you later try to cancel Thursday, the entire reservation is cancelled and you will need to submit a new reservation. If there is a waiting list, you will be placed at the bottom of that list.

Making a Reservation by Phone: Please Read!   (Reserving ONLINE preferred!)

Please note that the web-based reservation request form is preferred. Otherwise, you can call the reservation line at 650-322-9256 for both camping and day use. Because of the high volume of calls, messages asking for information about the site will not be returned. Please review additional details regarding fees and collection on the Reservation Form prior to calling.

Include the following information in your message:

  1. Name
  2. Company/Organization affiliation
  3. Employee Number (for HP employees only)
  4. Phone number with area code
  5. E-mail Address
  6. Name on card to be charged, ZIP code of card billing address, type of card (Mastercard or VISA only), card number, expiration date (mo/year) and card security code.
  7. Please leave two different choices of dates you would like to attend the campsite. In each choice, please give the date you will arrive and the date you will leave.
  8. At least three campsites in order of preference (See Campsite Map or Site Inventory.)
  9. Number of people in party (including self)
  10. If any EXTRA vehicles, how many (reservation includes one)

If your reservation request is available, you will receive an e-mail confirmation letter for you to bring to Little Basin. If your request cannot be filled, you will receive a call back with alternative options.

You will either receive a call within two business days if your request cannot be made or if your request is available you will receive an email confirmation.
